XBRL Australia by-laws

XBRL Australia Limited (ACN 099 302 342) was incorporated on 17 January 2002 as a company limited by guarantee. The liability of Members is limited to $10 each and no member is entitled to any surplus of funds. The purpose of the company is to foster the development and adoption of XBRL in Australia. Effective control of the company is exercised by the 3 directors - one from each Facilitator member (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and CPA Australia) and a third nominated by majority decision of The Board.

The company is funded by subscription fees paid by the members. In 2002 the company received an IT OnLine grant from the National Office for the Information Economy.
